Shaela Davis

Add-on Dancer

 

Shaela was raised in Columbia, MD. She attended Towson University and trained under Runqiao Du, Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Catherine Horta-Hayden, and Vincent Thomas. While at Towson, she had the opportunity to work with guest choreographers such as Alia Kache, Stephanie Powell, and Trent Williams, Jr.  She also trained at the American Dance Festival for four summers under Charles Anderson, Rodger Belman, Michelle Gibson, Nia Love, Andrea Weber, and Abby Zbikowski. Shaela received her BFA in Dance Performance with a K-12 Teaching Certification in Dance.

Shaela has performed works by Donna L. Jacobs of Full Circle Dance Company, Gesel Mason, Vanessa Voskuil, and Abby Zbikowski of Abby Z and the New Utility. She has performed at Abrons Arts Center,  The American Dance Festival, APAP|NYC, Baltimore Theatre Project, Boston ICA, Bryn Mawr College, Chesapeake Arts Center, Judson Church, New York Live Arts, and the University of Albany.

Shaela’s choreography was presented at the American College Dance Festival’s Mid-Atlantic Region in 2014. Shaela teaches at Morton Street Dance Center and is an extended day dance teacher in Anne Arundel County’s Performing and Visual Arts Program. This is Shaela’s first season with CKM&A.
